We will begin each day with breakfast in our hotel, where you can select from a buffet.

Lunch will be on your own, but most days a light snack will suffice, since

our big meal each day will be afternoon tea, usually at 3:00.  The first day will include a “secret” tea room hidden in a busy area of London.  We will experience a classic hotel tea at one of the well-known London institutions and in a royal greenhouse.  Our final experience will be a fun surprise that will be long remembered.  Comparing and contrasting the very different styles and experiences is one of the delights of the trip!

Dinners, will be on your own.  The dining  options near our hotel are abundant, and it’s hard to select from the thousands of amazing places to try.  Many are open late, so getting a little bite after the theatre or wandering the city is a great option.

We will utilize the Tube for much of our transportation in London, but the only way to experience the city is to spend a lot of time afoot.  We will also tour the city aboard a hop-on-hop-off narrated bus tour.  We will see a different view of the city on a Thames River cruise.

The West End theatre district of London has the largest concentration of commercial theatres in the English speaking world, with 38 venues in operation.  Pretty much any big show you can think of is playing there, including Phantom, Wicked, Beautiful, Le Mis, Jersey Boys, Book of Mormon, the long running Agatha Christie’s Mousetrap and more.  We recommend stopping at one of the half-price ticket stalls in the Leicester Square to take advantage of last minute ticket deals.

The hotels we have selected is right in the heart of London;  a few blocks to the British Museum, the theatre district, and Covent Garden, and there is a tube station less than 5 minutes away.  The amazing location is an excellent value for notoriously expensive London.  Our price is based on double occupancy.  If you do not have a roommate accompanying you on the trip, you will be matched with another un-paired traveler of the same sex.  Each room has two twin beds, free wifi and most importantly, in July in London, air conditioning!
